THERE'S MORE TO BRUGES THAN THE POSTCARD
Bruges is famous for its canals, cobbled streets and remarkably preserved medieval architecture. But behind the beautiful façades lies a much darker history.
Haunted Bruges explores that other side of the city.
Our evening walking tours bring together documented history, local folklore and centuries-old ghost stories - from plague and public executions to witch trials, murder and some of the stranger legends that have survived in Bruges.
HISTORY, LEGEND & THE STORIES IN BETWEEN
Some of the stories we tell are documented history. Others have been passed down as legends for generations.
We think both are fascinating - but they're not the same thing.
Where the historical record is clear, we'll tell you what we know. Where a story comes from folklore, tradition or a ghost story that has evolved over the centuries, we'll tell you that too.
Because sometimes where history ends and legend begins is the most interesting part.
OUR GUIDES
A great ghost tour depends on a great storyteller.
Our guides combine a love of Bruges, its history and its stranger stories with engaging storytelling and their own individual style. They know when to stick to the historical record, when a story crosses into legend - and when it's best to simply let a good ghost story speak for itself.
Each guide brings something different to the tour, which means no two Haunted Bruges walks are exactly alike.
BRUGES IS BEAUTIFUL. ITS HISTORY ISN'T.
Join us after dark for a 90-minute English-language walking tour through the darker side of the medieval city.
